How Many Days Until Diwali?

Diwali (Deepavali) is one of the most significant and widely celebrated festivals in India and among Hindu communities worldwide. Known as the "Festival of Lights," it symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. The festival lasts five days, with the main celebration occurring on the darkest night of the lunar month (Amavasya). Families light oil lamps (diyas) and candles, decorate their homes with colorful rangoli patterns, exchange gifts, share festive meals, and celebrate with fireworks. Diwali is also a time for prayer and worship, particularly to Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, and Ganesha, the remover of obstacles. Many businesses begin their new financial year on Diwali.
