About Eid al-Fitr
Eid al-Fitr, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," is one of the two major Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide. It marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
The celebration begins with a special morning prayer (Salat al-Eid) followed by festive gatherings, delicious meals, and the exchange of gifts. Muslims give Zakat al-Fitr (charitable donations) to ensure everyone can participate in the celebrations.
Eid al-Fitr is a time of gratitude, forgiveness, and community. Families and friends come together to celebrate, wearing their finest clothes and exchanging the greeting "Eid Mubarak" (Blessed Eid).
